creative ethos

Confide Creative is dedicated to helping you build your confidence, share your excellence, and claim the success you deserve.

THE MISSION

Confide Creative is a coaching and consulting practice centered on the collective cultural and economic progress of developing and thriving creative professionals who have ever felt alone, undervalued, or otherized while navigating careers towards, in, or on the outskirts of arts, culture, and entertainment industries. Confide Creative provides a combination of career enrichment experiences through 1-ON-1 coaching, group coaching, and creative consulting. Focused on tangible technical assistance and liberation mindset development for individuals and teams interested in shaping creative workforce equity through education, access, and opportunity; Confide Creative is Black-female owned, operated, and optimized.

THE Theory of change

Confide Creative empowers its clients to discover, define, and develop their own “Authentic Creative Edge” whether they are pursuing traditionally or non-traditionally creative positions so they can stop focusing on what it takes to survive and start emphasizing what it means for them to thrive.

All Images of Elena were taken in Leimert Park, Los Angeles - the Black mecca of creativity that nurtured, cultivated, shaped her (African-American, 1st generation Belizean-American, also known as Afro-Latina, and/or Afro-Caribbean) Black Girl Magic.

Elena Muslar, is a proud native of South Central Los Angeles, who founded Confide Creative based on the idea that every person is inherently creative if they are given the permission to explore and leverage their own unique creative skillset. With the intention to represent, push the limits, and build a sustainable career as a creative professional of color, Elena spent over a decade working in the arts and culture sector producing multidisciplinary programs and events while simultaneously contributing to the professional development of artists, culture bearers, and arts administrators.

After hearing countless stories from creatives of all ages, backgrounds, and lived experiences as she expanded into working in higher education (through her work coaching, teaching, and presenting to thousands of undergrads and grad students pursuing careers in arts, tv, film, media, and entertainment), youth leadership development, and mid-career/executive coaching, she noticed the most common barrier to entering creative careers often stemmed from conversations many recalled from their formative years too, where “well-meaning” guidance counselors, concerned parents, and educators with outdated tunnel vision perpetuated the stigma that creative pursuits were not viable career pathways. For those able to tune out the noise and break into creative careers, they often then expressed a lack of preparation for what achieving success in these fields actually takes while prioritizing any combination of the 10 areas of wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental, occupational, intellectual, financial, social, spiritual, environmental, cultural) they truly needed to succeed. Understanding this experience first-hand is what ultimately inspired Elena, a certified Social Emotional Arts Facilitator, to found an intentionally conscious incubator for professional discovery and the empowerment of creatives at varying stages in their careers.

At the intersection of creative encouragement, radical wellbeing, cultural legacy, and holistic literacy, the genesis for Confide Creative was born in order to create a non-judgemental educational incubator for creative professionals interested in impacting the world with their talents so they can build confidence, gain exposure, and be held accountable to the pursuit of their ever-evolving creative dreams mapped out into attainable realities.
